Today was the last day of finals at KU and many of my residents had finals all the way through to today. As I sat in my office and powered through lots of paperwork and the complication that is moving residents in, out, and around, many of my residents stopped by my office after finishing their exams. While closing time is always stressful, talking with residents and seeing how excited the first year students in particular were to be finished, just about makes it all worth it. I had two residents in particular this semester who had a harder time with academics and they both came to me on Friday, proudly showing me their latest assignments and explaining to me how this meant they would get an A in the class. Seeing how happy they were to have had a successful semester not only powered me through everything, but definitely made the day great! :)
